 In order to change your online status on the latest PlayStation, the first thing that you would have to do is go to your home screen and press the “Up Arrow” on the D-Pad of your controller.

The second thing that you would have to do is press the “Right Arrow” button on the D-Pad until you reach the “Profile Icon”, which should be right next to the Settings.

Third step:

The third step that you would have to do is press “X” on the controller so the drop-down menu could appear. After that, you want to click “Online Status”, which should appear right below your name or the profile icon.

Fourth step:

The last thing that you would have to do is pick “Appear Offline” so you can hide your online status. Remember, the Appear Offline button will only appear after you click your Online Status button.

Remember, this will simply hide your online status, but if you are playing some old games, there is a chance that your friends might get notified that you are playing a certain game, which means your entire cover could have been uncovered.

How To Hide Online Status Via PlayStation Application

The good thing is that there are some other ways that you can go with to hide your online status.

PlayStation also allows you to turn off your online status through the PlayStation Application on your mobile. How can you do it? Well, the process is pretty simple!

First step:

The first thing that you would have to do is open your PlayStation Application on Android or iPhone and sign into your PlayStation account.

Second step:

The second thing that you would have to do is go to the Play tab in the application. This one is located in the bottom left corner on your screen once you open the application.

Third step:

The third thing that you need to do is hit the “Gear Icon” which should be on the top right corner of your screen. This will allow you to go to settings.

Fourth step:

The fourth thing that you need to do is scroll down until you find “Console Management”. This will be found in the Settings section of the application and after that, you want to select “Online Status”.

Fifth step:

The last thing that you would have to do is choose “Appear Offline”. Doing this will automatically hide your online status from your PlayStation Network friends.

Remember, this will simply hide your online status, but if you are playing some old games, there is a chance that your friends might get notified that you are playing a certain game, which means your entire cover could have been uncovered.
