Instagram Now Supports 60 Second Videos On Reels Just Like TikTok

It’s just a clone now.

After Instagram announced recently that they are no longer a photo-sharing application, the social media platform has made a new announcement again, and this one is just bizarre.

TikTok announced earlier that their users can now upload 60 second long videos on Reels, which is the TikTok competitor feature on Instagram’s official mobile application.

Here is the official update from Instagram.

The update by Instagram adds functionality such as sticker on Reels, which means users can now transcribe audio to text.

Before this update, Instagram only supported Reels of up to 30 seconds and on TikTok, it was recently announced that their users could now post 3 minute long videos on the platform.

The 60 second video feature was added in order to allow TikTok users on Instagram to share the video on their account to get more viewers.

So it’s just for reposting purposes only and allowing their users in India in particular to post longer videos on Reels, considering that TikTok is banned in the country, which is the largest democratic country in the world.
