Microsoft is gifting its employees a $1500 coronavirus pandemic bonus, said a report published by TheVerge.
The internal memo was seen by The Verge.
Microsoft says that the bonus is being handed out in recognition of the unique and challenging fiscal year the company has just completed out.
Kathleen Hogan, Microsoft’s Chief People Officer, announced the gift to their employees today.
The $1500 bonus is eligible in both the US and outside the counry.
Microsoft is gifting this bonus to all staff below vice president level that started on or before March 31st, 2021
Part-time and permanent workers are also eligible for the bonus.
Microsoft has 175,508 employees right now.
Also, GitHub, ZeniMax and LinkedIn employees are not eligible for the bonus despite Microsoft owning these companies.
In total, Microsoft is giving out $200 million to its employees. If you think that’s a lot, you’re wrong.
It’s just 2 days worth of profit for the tech giant.
