Apple Adds RuPay, UPI And NetBanking Payment Methods For Users In India

The long wait is over!

For years and years, Apple users in India were stuck with going with what they have considering that not many payment options were available in the country if you wanted to subscribe to Apple TV, Apple Music and many more, but that’s a thing in the past.

In a new update by Apple, they have added a a bunch of new payment methods for users in India, which could be used in purchasing apps and games and even subscribing to Apple Arcade, Apple TV, and Apple Music.

The new payment methods include the following:

  • UPI
  • RuPay
  • Net Banking

You can also use these methods to add funds in your Apple account. The balance can be used to pay the monthly rental of steaming services such as Apple Arcade, Apple One, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and buy apps off their App Store.

What is RuPay?

RuPay is an Indian financial services provider and payment service system that is similar with Visa and MasterCard. This platform was launched in 2021 and it is used to facilitate real time electronic payments throughout the country. Banks and financial institutions use this in India.

What Is UPI?

UPI is a instant payment network that was launched in 2016. This platform is used by people in India to make online payments and stepping away from going with cash. Google Pay, PhonePe and PayTM are the 3 main apps that are mostly used for this type of payment method.

The latest move by Apple will surely allow them to see a huge surge in their sales considering that it’s not easy to get your hands on Visa or MasterCards in the country amidst this coronavirus pandemic.
