What is a System Management Controller?
A SMC in your Mac is actually a subsystem that helps in controlling power management, video switching, battery charging, sleep/wake mode, keyboard backlighting, LED indicators and many other stuff.
As soon as your Mac goes in or out of the sleep mode, a SMC will start controlling what devices should be powered down for saving battery. Here is the actual problem because then the SMC receives wrong signals and believes that the Wi-Fi should remain off even if the computer starts.
