How to cool down your phone when it is too hot

Using your phone for a prolonged period of time can cause a lot of problems for you, especially heating problems, considering that no device in this planet right now has a built in fan.

As a cellphone owner, it is your duty to make sure that you are keeping your phone safe and away from harm, such as overheating. But what exactly can you do when your phone is too hot?

Below, we are going to list down some things you can do to cool your phone when it’s running too hot.

10 Things You Can Do To Cool Your Phone When It’s Too Hot

1. Turn off LTE or 5G

If your mobile data has been turned on, you want to turn it off, considering that it drains a lot of your battery and can push your device to the top. A lot of people experience really high temperatures when they are using their phone with LTE or 5G on. Once you turn it off, you will start to notice that your device will cool down. Try to keep it off for around 10 to 20 minutes if you want it to have normal temperatures.

2. Remove the case that you have

If your mobile has a case on, you want to remove it when it’s too hot, considering that your case can block proper airflow to the back of your device. Remove it and place it in a room that has some decent air flow. Let it rest there for at least 20 minutes so its temperature can go back to the right temperature.

3. Place it in front of a fan

Remove the case, turn off mobile data and place it in Airplane mode before placing it in front of a fan. Doing this will help you out a lot in reducing your device’s temperatures when they are running hot, considering that you are limiting the features used on your phone, meaning your phone is likely at idle and you are allowing its processor along with other components to rest.

Note: Placing your device in front of the device will just speed up the process.

4. Lower down the settings

If you are using an Android device and you are facing a lot of heating issues, it’s time to tweak the settings.

The thing with Android devices, particularly the flagship ones, is that you can play with the performance that it has, meaning, you can either put the phone in full performance mode, performance mode, and low performance mode. The higher you go, the more likely you are to face hotter temperatures, so if you have your device on full settings, it’s time to turn them down.

Try to bring down the screen resolution, put it in battery saver mode and turn off the enhanced features that you turned on. Also, put the screen color to natural instead of the one that you set up.

5. Stop using it under the sun

If you love to use your phone while walking on the road or down the street on a sunny day and turn it’s brightness to the max, you are doing it all wrong and you want to change things up.

Instead of pushing your phone to the limits and put yourself in danger, you want to make some changes and stop using your phone when the temperatures are really high, considering that hot temperatures will increase the temperature of your phone. Do this and you will surely see a huge change in the temperature of your phone .

6. Don’t use it while charging

If you are using your phone while it’s charging and are facing a lot of high temperature problems, it’s time to stop that bad habit of yours, considering that you can damage your phone and it can explode in your hands.

Let your phone charge, once it’s fully charged you want to remove the connector and let it rest for at least 10 to 20 minutes so it can cool down. After it has properly cooled down, you want to use your phone.

7. Don’t rush the process

If you are trying to cool it down, don’t rush the process. Let it rest, don’t charge it while it’s too hot, exit all the apps that are running in the background, stop forcing it to run things it cannot run and make sure that you are not putting ice over it when it’s too hot. Believe us, there are some people who have done this and ended up damaging their phones.

8. Buy a phone cooler

Doing this simple trick will help you out a lot in keeping your phone cool when you are using it just for simple tasks such as browsing the internet, watching videos on social media platforms and replying to messages.

10. Bring it out of your pocket

Give the little guy some room to breathe, which you can do by simply bringing it out of your pocket and letting it rest on a surface where it can get proper cooling.

Remember, put it in airplane mode, remove the case, place it in front of a fan and let it rest for 10 to 20 minutes so it can get normal temperatures. Also, some devices with bad batteries might explode inside pockets when the phone gets too hot. So try to keep yourself and your phone in the cold side, not hot side.
