Below, we are going to list down some steps that would help you turn off the active status on Facebook’s Messenger application.

Please do keep in mind that our steps below will work on both Android and iOS devices.

But before we start, what does the activity status do?

The Activity Status on Facebook’s Messenger allows your friends to know if you are online or offline along with when was the last time you used the application. Turning it on means your friends see your online activity, turning it off means no one sees when your’e online and in return, you do not get to see if your friends are online.

So the question remains, how can you turn it off?

The first thing that you have to do is make sure that the messenger application is downloaded on your device.

The second thing that you need to do is open the application on your device, may it be an Android phone or a phone that runs the iOS.

The third thing that you need to do is click on your profile picture, which is located on the top left corner of your screen.

The fourth thing that you need to do is click on the Active Status button that you can see on your screen after clicking your profile picture.

The fifth and last thing that you need to do is click the green toggle button that you will see after you click the “active status” button on your screen.

Turning it on means your friends can see your status when you are using the application, turning it off will hide your activity status.
