Windows 11 Release Date And When You Can Download Update For Free
6 years after Windows 10 was released by Microsoft, earlier this month, the tech giant announced that they will be releasing the Windows 11 operating system this year.
If you missed out the announcement, you can catch up by watching the video below:
Windows 11 will be released this year and it will feature a cleaner and mac like design along with a newer set of features.
When can you download it?
You will be able to download the Windows 11 OS during the 2021 holiday season. The news was announced by Microsoft in a blog that was published after the event.
But the thing is, there are some suggestions that Windows 11 will be arriving earlier thanks to some stable beta versions people have been testing right now.
Who is eligible for the free download?
The free upgrade is going to be rolled out for Windows 10 PC users around the holidays, which falls on November or December.
The post by Microsoft also said that the updates are going to continue up until 2022.
No specific date was announced in the blog too.
Early update for laptop users
Laptop Retailers are right now reportedly going to get the update first in October this year.
During the Windows 11 event, a Microsoft Teams message said “excited to turn it up to 11, can’t wait for October!”
Not only that, but press images for Windows 11 include a date of October 20 in the taskbar.
If that’s not enough, there’s still more.
On the official website of Walmart, there is a sentence that says “free upgrade to Windows October 2021 when available” on a number of high end laptops.
