Black Screen of Death!

Microsoft has announced that they are changing the famous Blue Screen of Death to black once the Windows 11 is launched.

If you are wondering why this is happening, it’s because they are trying to match the new black shutdown screens and other black design schemes in the OS.

The Black Screen of Death is not yet fully enabled in the Windows 11 preview.

For those that do not know, this is the first major change that was added to the BSOD since the sad face on Windows 8 in 2012 and the added QR codes in 2016.

What does it do?

Microsoft introduced the Blue Screen of Death in Windows 3 in order to offer a way for IT professionals and support personnel to diagnose hardware and memory faults.

The good news about this is that the Black Screen of Death, funny thing it’s still BSOD, will have an identical screen with the one that is currently found in Windows 10.

It will still have that sad face and stop code along with crash dump.

Also, the reason that we stated above is just a speculation.

Microsoft did not say why they are changing the color from Blue to Black and the company has not yet released a statement about the incident.
