We all knew that this day would come, but the thing is it came earlier than expected.

As much as we hate Internet Explorer, considering that it’s very slow and no one uses it because it literally takes forever to load something on that browser, the classic pre-installed browser will not be included in Windows 11.

Microsoft revealed yesterday that the Internet Explorer is going to be disabled in the upcoming Windows 11 operating system.

This comes after Microsoft announced earlier that the Internet Explorer application will be unusable after June 15, 2022.

A spokesperson of Microsoft told The Verge:

The Internet Explorer 11 desktop application will not be available on Windows 11. Microsoft Edge is the default browser for Windows 11.The MSHTML engine exists as part of the Windows 11 operating system to power IE mode in Microsoft Edge.

This is the first time in over 20 years that a Microsoft released OS will not come with a Internet Explorer application.

According to a report by the Verge, the Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2.5 was the first OS that had a Internet Explorer in it.
